Pupil Premium Strategy

The Pupil Premium was introduced by the Coalition Government in April 2011 to provide additional support for looked after children and those from low income families.

The extra funding is made available to schools to help them narrow the attainment gap that still exists between pupils from disadvantaged and more affluent backgrounds. Every school can select how they choose to use their Pupil Premium allocation, as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for pupils.

Our vision at St Edward’s College goes beyond simply narrowing the gap between those who are economically advantaged and those who are not. We are determined to ensure that all pupils, irrelevant of background or prior attainment, have the skills and qualifications so that they may realise their true potential and live their lives to the full.
